OCup #1 2015

posted May 30, 2015, 6:29 PM by System Administrator

We had an incredible day at the Carleton Place Canoe Club for our first big regatta of the competitive season.  In fact, Richmond Hill topped the list of all clubs to place number one to win the regatta Burgee, even beating out powerhouse clubs such as Rideau, Ottawa River, Balmy, Burloak and Missy! What a start to the season!   Instead of medals or ribbons this year, the top 3 finishers in each event received a donut “medal”, Richmond Hill certainly had their fill!  Here are results of the top 3 finishers:

We believe there was an error in the results for the U14 Men K-1 2000 M event and Cam Lang should have placed in the top three.

A special shout-out to Marc Cinq-Mars who should have been given a special award for perseverance after participating in his very first regatta in a C-1 after only having been in that style of boat for 3 weeks.  Incredible job by Marc and all of our younger paddlers who had never competed such a long distance event before.

Let’s keep up the momentum and hope to see you all at our next big club event, the Mississauga Canoe Club Regatta on Saturday June 6th
