We are currently looking to hire our summer staff for the Richmond HIll Canoe Kayak camp. We are looking for qualified, energetic employees who enjoy working with kids of all ages. Summer Camp Cousellors for Canoe Kids Kayak Program (June 27th - September 2nd, 2011)

Positions are available for both part-time and full time counsellors.

Objectives:

1. Promote a fun, supportive, organized, safe, and instructional environment.
2. Enjoy, motivate and gain respect of children ages 9 - 15
3. Promote teambuilding and fair play
4. Treat all children with equal opportunity and respect
5. Excite children about the sport of kayak.canoe paddling and encourage them to continue.

Requirements

1. Canoe Kids Course Certification
2. Standard First Aid with CPR level C
3. Pleasure Craft Operator Certification
4. Knowledge of RHCC policies and procedures (this can be found on our website under code of conduct)
5. Previous summer camp work experience is an valuable asset

** we also require one full time counselor to be certified in Open Water Lifeguard **

Dragon Boat Safety Boat Driver: ( Part-time Position)

The Dragon Boat Safety Boat Driver is an evening position. This inddividual will work directly RHCC Dragon Boat Coordinator. The duties include preparing the Dragon Boat for the team that is renting the boat for the session, ensuring there are enough paddles and lifejackets and reamining on the water during the whole practice with the Dragon Boat team, keeeping a safe distance from the Dragon Boat, while remaining close enough to assist any crew members should they require help. At the end of each training session, you will be required to return all the equipment and ensure the Dragon Boat is returned to it's correct dock and locked up.

Requirements for Dragon Boat Safety Boat Driver:

1. Standard First Aid with CPR level C
2. Pleasure Craft Operator Certification

In your cover letter, please indicate which of the two job positions indicated above you are applying for. For the camp counsellor position, please also indicate whether you are applying for the full-time or the part-time position, as well as the hours you are availiable to work. We will also require a photocopy of your valid Pleasure Craft Operator card and Standard First Aid with CPR level C. If you are applying for the Open Water Lifegurad/Counselor postion please provide proof of this certification. Please ensure all the documents are valid and up-to-date.
