Intermediate

The Intermediate training group is designed for youth paddlers who want to step up their training from the Racing Development group. This group is led by an Assistant Coach during the on-water paddling season. 

The Intermediate group will typically participate in about 6 regattas per season culminating in the Western Ontario Division (WOD) Championships and Provincial Championships (qualification necessary). 

The training program will include:

  • On-water instruction and training (May to October, weather dependent)
  • Winter Dry-land training with Ergometer (November to April)
  • Social activities

TRAINING PROGRAM – SPRING / SUMMER

  • There are 5 practices per week in May, June, September & October
  • New in 2017, there are 8 practices per week in  July  and August
  • There may be additional team boat practices in the summer  - these will be determined by the Head Coach according to pairings and paddler availability
  • This group is coached by Assistant Coach - Tula Morawska
  • All team boat paddler assignments are determined by the Head Coach
  • Regatta participation is encouraged.  The schedule is circulated at the beginning of each season.

Fee: $950.00 for May - October

This includes all fees except for regatta entry fees and racing fees. 

Regatta and racing fees are invoiced at the end of the racing season.

Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri >                  6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday >                                      9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

July & August Schedule
Mon - Sat >        9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Tues, Thurs >     6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

NOTE: There is a 2-3 week break from training after Nationals in late August.

Volunteering
  • There is a mandatory contribution of 10 volunteer hours for each Intermediate paddler.
