Masters and Junior Masters

RHCC offers two Masters programs for adults aged 25+ and a program for paddlers age 18 – 24. Several events are available throughout the season for those who wish to compete, culminating with the CanMas regatta held after Nationals, at the end of August.

Coached Masters (Age 25+)
This program is for adults who would like to be full time members of the club and learn the skills for sprint racing. Club equipment is supplied. On-water coaching and planned workouts take place three times per week from May through October. This group is led by an Assistant Coach.

Fee: $520.00

This includes all fees except for regatta entry fees and racing fees.

All regatta and racing fees are tallied and charged to the paddler by invoice at the end of the racing season.

Training Schedule, May - Oct*

Mon & Wed >    6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Saturday >        8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

*sessions may be 'on' or 'off' water as light/water conditions and/or paddling experience permits, and the end date of the program in Fall is weather and light dependent but usually mid-October

Experienced Masters (Age 25+)
This program is for full time members with extensive paddling experience (approved by the Head Coach) who own their own personal racing boats. The clubhouse is open many mornings and evenings in the summer to allow experienced paddlers to go out on the water in groups. Training programs are available for this group but no direct coaching. With safety being of primary importance, members are advised not to paddle alone and to wear Canada-approved PFDs when paddling in cold weather.
