Sponsorship Information

Help Make a Difference!

We need your help! More athletes means more demands on our equipment, facilities and programs.

Our athletes are seeing great success.  Four of our youth athletes have won national champions in the last three years!  Some of these athletes also compete at international events. In order to make this year a success, we need sponsors to help provide for the needs of our teams. Access to new equipment, as well as ongoing maintenance to our current boats, is essential for our teams to excel.

Please consider sponsoring our teams. Every little bit makes a difference!

About the Team

Under the direction of our new Head Coach, Helen Savin, our competitive teams have grown to unprecedented numbers. There are now over 40 youth and 25 master athletes actively competing. All team members have access to year-round training and compete at the provincial, national and, for some, international levels. Team members train together, develop their paddling and teamwork skills, and build lifelong friendships as they proudly represent Richmond Hill.

The athletes are engaged in dry-land training from November until spring and will begin on-water training in April when the ice melts on Lake Wilcox – our home base. Throughout the spring and summer, our athletes participate in regattas across Southern Ontario with some competitions across Canada for our National Team and Olympic hopefuls.

About the Club

Since 1991, The Richmond Hill Canoe Club, a member of the Ontario Canoe Kayak Sprint Racing Affiliation (OCSRA) and of Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC), has had two primary goals:

1. Promote and develop canoe, kayak and dragon boat paddle sports for a broad range of ages, abilities and at all levels of competition.

2. Provide an opportunity for individuals from our surrounding communities to pursue a lifelong skill and promote, fun, fitness, hard work and teamwork. We encourage our competitive members to set challenging goals and offer opportunities to train in order to reach their highest potential.
