RHCC Dragonboat (Introductory)

If there is sufficient interest, an Introduction to Dragon Boat Program will run in July and August.

However, at least 12-20 people are needed due to the size of a dragonboat.   We have several people who have expressed interest.  If you would be interested in joining a once a week for 4 weeks Introduction to Dragonboat program in July or August, please email  The cost would be approximately $80 per person for a 4 week session.  When we have sufficient interest, we will arrange a session.  Our instructor is a certified cox with many years of coaching experience.

This program is for adults and older teens aged 15+years, and will  teach basic strokes, as well as safety and teamwork skills.  Participants will be out paddling our dragon boat from the first class and by course end, equip them with the necessary skills to paddle confidently, as part of a crew, in a recreational team setting.

All lessons take place on beautiful Lake Wilcox and are taught with a focus on safety, skill development and fun.

All necessary equipment including paddle and mandatory Canada-approved PFD will be provided.

At the completion of one course, participants may choose to enrol in a subsequent introductory program or indicate to the instructor that they wish to join an existing Dragon Boat Team.  The RHCC will connect participants with teams in need of paddlers wherever possible.  Please ask your coach for more details on these options.

How to Register

Please email to hold a spot in either July or August.  If there are sufficient participants, we will arrange a session.  No registration form or cheque is necessary until we have sufficient numbers.
